HSBC Continental Europe

HSBC Continental Europe, headquartered in Paris, is an indirect subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc.

Its mission is to serve continental European clients with their needs worldwide, and clients from other Group countries with their needs in continental Europe.

HSBC Continental Europe primarily comprises the activities of ten European branches (Germany, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic and Sweden) and two subsidiaries in continental Europe (Luxembourg and Malta).

The completion of the sale of the retail banking operations in France in January 2024 marked a key milestone in the transformation of HSBC Continental Europe and enables the bank to focus on its wholesale banking model. This includes corporate banking; banking, financing, investment, markets and securities custody services for corporate clients and financial institutions; as well as asset management and insurance, complemented by a targeted wealth management and private banking offering.
